Charter System

sgtThe Union County School System will be taking parent member nominations for each School's Governance Team (SGT).  These nominations will be for parents who have a child either enrolled in or will be enrolled in the respective school for the full two years of the elected member's term.  The nomination window will be from April 15, 2019 through April 26. 2019, and the elections will be held from April 29, 2019 through May 3. 2019.  Elected parent members will be required to attend a mandatory training following the elections (date TBD).

Parents may cast votes for one of the nominees listed on the ballot of their child's respective 2019-2020 school during normal business hours.  All parents desiring to vote must present a valid form of identification for verification and validation against school records.  Please contact your child's 2019-2020 school directly should you have any further questions.  The Union County School System thanks you for your participation.

Charter System Information

On July 1, 2014 the Georgia State Board of Education approved Union County Schools as one of Georgia's Charter School Systems.  The purpose of the charter school system is to increase innovation and flexibility.  Over the next 5 years, Union County will focus on innovating and utilizing flexibility to reach our 4 foundational elements:

I.   Flexible Service Models
II.   Integrated STEM Partnerships
III. Increased Postsecondary Partnerships
IV. Global Engagement through the Spanish Language (K-12)
